The season got off to a tense start for our Women's 2nd XI with a 3 all draws against Kirkby Lonsdale 1’s and Penrith 2’s in the first two matches at home. However, after that initial “warming up” period, Carlisle 2’s started to find their form.

The turning point came in November after a nail-biting encounter with Ambleside 1st XI away from home. After going behind 2-0 initially, our Women's 2nd's claimed a dramatic victory from a last-minute penalty goal to win 4-3!!

Other notable victories on the road included battles against early season rivals Kirkby Lonsdale 1’s resulting in a win (3-2; ''everyone DEFEND!!'') and Penrith 2’s (4-3; with another last minute winning super-strike!!).

In total, our Women's 2nd XI ended an 'invincible' season with 17 wins, 3 draws and zero loses, scoring an impressive 116 goals and only conceding 36.
