A hard-fought afternoon on the road ended in frustration for Carlisle 1s, who fell to a 2-0 defeat against a clinical Tynedale 1s side.

Despite long spells of gritty defending and sustained pressure, the visitors were left empty-handed after conceding a goal in each half.

Tynedale broke the deadlock midway through the first half, punishing a momentary lapse in Carlisle’s defensive structure to make it 1-0.

Carlisle dug deep to stay in the contest, driven by an exceptional, heroic performance from Goalkeeper Nixon between the pads. Nixon produced a series of top-drawer saves to keep the deficit at one heading into the break, earning him a thoroughly deserved Man of the Match award.

Carlisle pushed hard for an equalizer in the second half, pushing numbers forward and creating a handful of promising opportunities. However, as Carlisle committed players to the attack, Tynedale capitalized on the counter to slot home a late second goal, sealing the match.

Adding to the pre-match drama, Jackson took home the coveted DOTD honours after somehow managing to walk out onto the pitch having completely forgotten to put his shin pads on.
