Carlisle produced a determined performance on the road to secure a 3–2 victory away at Sunderland, thanks to a superb hat-trick from the Hitchmeister General.

In a great show of sportsmanship, Carlisle loaned two players to help Sunderland field a full side, making for a competitive and enjoyable contest. Among them was Robbie, whose return to the pitch was fantastic.

Carlisle started brightly and soon found their rhythm, moving the ball well and creating chances. The breakthrough came from the Hitchmeister General, who finished confidently to put Carlisle ahead. He soon doubled the lead with another well-taken goal, giving Carlisle a strong platform in the match.

Sunderland battled back well, with Bless finding the net to reduce the deficit and keep the home side in the game. However, Carlisle responded in style as the Hitchmeister General completed his hat-trick with another clinical finish to restore the cushion.

Bless added a second for Sunderland later in the match, setting up a tense finish, but Carlisle showed great composure to manage the closing stages and hold on for a well-earned 3–2 win.

It was a great team effort all round, with particularly strong performances from the younger players who stepped up impressively throughout the match.
