The 2s headed down south for their first away game outside of the county against Fylde. After the long journey and negotiated the turnstiles Carlisle started out strong against a well matched opposition. An early goal from Fylde was rapidly matched when a ball from midfield found Leah on the baseline. A quick pass to Romily who found the back board levelled the score.
Fylde continued the pressure and scored a further goal before half time.
After an invigorating team talk Carlisle returned fighting however the umpire's decisions never seemed to work in our favour. Flyde scored two further goals leaving the final score of 1-4.
However the score does not reflect Carlisle's level of play, we had some great moments of passing, regular attacks on goal and some solid defensive tackles. Everyone played with pace, effort and teamwork and we'll continue to get stronger as we play more together.
Special mention to our player of the match Claire for her super tackles, defensive work and even a goal line save!!
