A keen U14's Carlisle turned up ready to run and work for the ball. We played 4 quarters to use as many players as we could.
Carlisle started strong with a great goal from Olivia Palmer which spurred on Wigton but the girls worked well passing and pushing up on the attack. Bella Tiffin-Lowe playing her first game lead the attack from the middle using the wings Emilie Brorthwick and Lily Dunning who were support by Freya Hodgson and Masie Askew - a great little duo. As the match passed halfway Wigton's attacking became stronger and our defence sprung into action lead by Connie Whiteford with strong tackles moving the ball out wide for Lea Glencross and Olivia Palmer. Connie was strongly supported by Anna Thompson and Evie Rook marking some very strong Wigton attackers. The end result did not represent how well Carlisle played dominating the game. A special mention for Anastasia Williams making her debut as goalkeeper with some great saves and good clearing. Well done to all that played, it's going to be a great season.
