Kirkby Stephen U14s 0, Carlisle U14s 5

Even with a number of enforced changes Carlisle continued their good run of form when they saw off a spirited Kirkby Stephen team with a demonstration of fluent attacking hockey.

From the first whistle the visitors attacked prompted by Captain Minnie and they soon opened the scoring through Isabella and added a second with a short corner strike from Hattie.

A third was added after 23 minutes again through Hattie who danced through the home defence before shooting past the keeper.
At the back Carlisle gave the opposition forwards no room for manoeuvre with Connie giving a disciplined performance ably assisted by Charlotte and Iona.

After the interval the introduction of Thalia added further spice to Carlisle’s attacking prowess and Jessica and Lara went close to scoring before Hattie completed her hat trick with another thunderous strike from a short corner. The fifth goal followed hard on its heels .This time Emily scoring with a confident firm shot.

Carlisle continued to dominate with Emilie, Minnie and Thalia controlling midfield but Kirkby Stephen fought hard to prevent any further score.

Carlisle’s next game is in January at home to Garstang.
